Usually, through some investigation, it can be inferred that there are cracks or fractures inside the optical path causing excessive optical loss and a blocked link. But how to prove and where the breakpoint is can only be determined with the assistance of instruments. However, the resolution of typical OTDRs is at the decimeter level, making it impossible to accurately locate the specific breakpoint position inside the device.
