Acquiring SUSS MicroOptics SA to enhance the production capacity of optical communication micro nano optical components

In January of this year, Juguang Technology successfully completed the acquisition of SUSS MicroOptics SA (now Focuslight Switzerland SA, abbreviated as Juguang) in Switzerland. With the integration of related businesses, the company's micro optical processing capabilities have added two core technologies: photolithography reactive ion etching wafer level micro nano optical precision processing manufacturing technology and nanoimprint precision micro nano optical design and processing manufacturing technology. Among them, photolithography reactive ion etching method is an advanced mainstream technology route for precision micro nano optical preparation, which can prepare precise micro nano optical structures on wafers according to specific design goals, especially suitable for large-scale production of micro nano optical components in the field of optical communication. Swiss torch light is the pioneer of this technology in this field.

With the development of generative AI models, computing power will evolve from basic computing power to intelligent computing power; Benefiting from the increase of FTTH broadband worldwide, domestic and foreign telecom and Internet manufacturers have invested heavily in data center equipment upgrading and new data center infrastructure construction. The optical module market is expected to maintain a high growth trend, and the potential of the global market, especially the Chinese market, is huge.

With the company's technological advantages in the field of photolithography reactive ion etching, it will vigorously develop its optical communication business and silicon optical business, which will be one of the company's business priorities in the coming period. In response to the urgent demand for efficient delivery time and production capacity from customers in industries such as optical communication, the company plans to complete the establishment of a back-end production line in Dongguan by the fourth quarter of 2024, making Dongguan a core hub for large-scale product delivery in this field. The expected monthly production capacity is 1.5 million optical components, ensuring stable and efficient market supply.

  High quality micro nano optical components assist customers in customizing their optical module needs

  In this exhibition, Juguang Technology will exhibit micro and nano optical components that use photolithography reactive ion etching to prepare silicon or fused silica substrate, including non spherical single lens (with V-slot), N * N large lens array, 1 * N non spherical lens array, integrated lens prism and diffractive optical element (DOE), as well as the newly developed silicon integrated collimating array applied in the field of optical communication. These components are mainly used for efficient collimation, focusing, or fiber coupling of laser sources in communication optical modules and silicon optical modules, such as light emitting modules (TOSA), light receiving modules (ROSA), photonic integrated circuits (PIC), co packaged optical devices (CPO), and other products, to achieve miniaturization and high efficiency of light sources。

Juguang Technology adopts industry-leading optical preparation technology and provides customized services for various lens types, shapes, arrangements, and array quantities, which can flexibly meet diverse application needs. Specifically, for micro nano optical components applied in the field of optical communication, the minimum profile deviation can achieve RMS<10nm, and the reflectivity is extremely low at AOI=0-15 ° R. It also supports customer customized coating (NIR or DUV-NIR). We strictly control the product quality to ensure that the product has excellent performance in various complex optical systems. We can achieve product side perpendicularity of ± 1 °, dimensional tolerance of ± 15 µ m (silicon material), ± 25 µ m (fused silica material), thickness tolerance of ± 10 µ m, radius of curvature range of 150-10000 µ m, and tolerance of ± 3%.
